Ghana international Osman Bukari registered his first-ever Major League Soccer goal for Austin FC in their away victory over Nashville FC on Saturday night.
Austin FC condemned Nashville FC to a 2-0 painful home defeat in the all-important match-week 26 clash at Geodis Park.
The home side, Nashville FC, could have opened the scoring in the early minutes from the spot, but goalkeeper Brad Stuver saved Hany Mukhtar’s attempt to convert the spot-kick into the back of the net.
However, Austin FC took advantage of an out-of-position defense to break through in the 43rd minute when Jon Gallagher finished off a cross-field pass by Alex Ring.
Osman Bukari scored the clinching goal for Austin, taking advantage of a turnover by substitute Amar Sejdić with seven minutes left in regulation.
The Black Stars attacker beat Joe Willis, who had come nearly 40 yards out of goal, to the ball and dribbled around him, slotting the ball easily into an empty net.
Bukari joined Austin FC from Serbian Super Liga side Red Star Belgrade this summer and has featured twice, with a goal to his credit.
