The Black Princesses, Ghana’s U-20 Women’s national football team, have commenced their training in Bogota, Colombia, in preparation for the upcoming U-20 Women’s World Cup. Despite the challenges of a long journey, the team is in high spirits and is steadily adapting to the new environment.
Speaking to their welfare manager, Miss Aicha Amoako Denteh over the phone by The Ghana Times Team, it was confirmed that the players are all in good health and are currently shaking off the effects of the lengthy travel. The team is focused and determined as they ramp up their preparations to compete at the highest level of women’s youth football.
With their eyes set on making a significant impact at the tournament, the Black Princesses are eager to represent Ghana with pride and excellence on the global stage.
Black Princesses held their first training session at the Centro Deportivo Choquenza in Bogotá on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
The one-hour shake-up session saw twenty players participate fully after a long journey.
The team will continue their preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, with a series of high-profile friendly matches scheduled before the tournament kicks off on August 31, 2024.
The Black Princesses are set to open their campaign against Austria on September 2, before facing Japan and New Zealand in the remaining Group E matches.
After failing to advance beyond the group stage in their previous six appearances, the Black Princesses are determined to secure a spot in the knockout rounds this time around.
