Jude Bellingham is suffering from a muscle injury that will keep him out for at least a month. Through his social media, the Real Madrid midfielder reflected on the frustration he feels and the signals his body is sending him after ‘a very busy year’.
La Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League, European Championship… and back to square one until a muscle injury forced Jude Bellingham to take a break. Real Madrid released the medical report on Friday for the midfielder, who is expected to be sidelined for around five weeks. A setback that, as he has said, is frustrating.
The injury began in the morning training session after he received a knock that left him limping and made him leave the session. He was quickly examined by the doctors and subsequent tests confirmed by mid-afternoon that it was more than just a scare: he has an injury to the plantar thin muscle of his right leg, in the calf area. Hours later, through his main social networks, the 21-year-old Englishman wanted to address the Madrid fans directly to share his feelings.
“Nothing I hate more than missing games but trying to see the positive side and maybe my body is telling me it needs a bit more rest after a busy year,” he said. Bellingham in the space of exactly 12 months has played in 54 official and friendly matches. Fewer than might have been had it not been for his shoulder injury in November 2023 and the sprained ankle he suffered in February 2024.
The English writing goes on like this: “I’m very frustrated but I’ll be supporting the lads like a fan until I can rejoin them again in my best and strongest form. Thanks for your messages of concern and support. Lots of love and Hala Madrid! ”
On ‘X’ he received encouragement from the England national team and on Instagram he received affection from teammates such as Brahim, Mbappe, Vinicius, Lucas Vazquez, Courtois and Fran Garcia, as well as people with whom he shared a dressing room, such as former Madrid player Joselu Mato and Donyell Malen.
