The Aburi Girls Senior High School community is in a state of deep sorrow following the unexpected passing of their esteemed headmistress, Cynthia Anim. The tragic incident occurred while Mrs. Anim was attending an international education conference in Assisi, Italy.

Mrs. Anim, a highly respected and dedicated educator, was invited to participate in the Global Hippo English Olympiad, an event that brought together heads of schools and students from 63 countries, including Ghana. She was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Education and a group of selected students, all with the aim of observing and learning from the international best practices showcased at the conference.

Sadly, the workshop and conference in Assisi, Italy, turned into a sombre occasion as Mrs. Anim passed away during the event. The exact cause of her death has not been officially disclosed, but the school community is devastated by the sudden loss of their beloved leader.

The Aburi Girls SHS community has been overwhelmed with grief and tributes since the news of Mrs. Anim’s passing. Students, teachers, and alumni have taken to social media to express their heartfelt condolences and share their fondest memories of the headmistress.

“We are committed to ensuring that Mrs. Anim’s vision and the exceptional standards she set for our school continues  to inspire us,” said Rev. Asiedu. “She has left an indelible mark on Aburi Girls SHS, and we will work tirelessly to preserve her legacy and build upon the foundation she has laid.”

The school community is expected to hold a memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Anim’s life and contributions to the school. Also, the board is considering establishing a scholarship fund in her name to support the education of deserving students, a fitting tribute to a woman who dedicated her life to empowering young minds.
